This month: The Push campaign picks up Bronze, Supermarker takes center stage and Pangea adds yet more language strings to its bow. For those who were hoping for the big reveal (following our newsletter last month), we’re going to keep you hanging a little longer. Good type takes good time and we need a little more, but for the super keen, you can get a little (actually huge) sneak peek. Read on to find out more.

The Push campaign just scooped a Bronze ‘Nail’ at the highly coveted German Art Directors Club Award. |
There is so much that goes on behind the scenes to bring a font to market. And we are always looking at how we can break the mold when it comes to creating eye-catching campaigns for each new release. Over the years, we have been lucky to partner with an array of amazing agencies who have helped bring our fonts to life with visuals, films and beautiful specimens.
So we were overjoyed to hear that our campaign by Rocket & Wink for the release of Christine Gertsch’s Push typeface just scooped a Bronze ‘Nail’ at the highly coveted German Art Directors Club (ADC) Award.
The one and only Hamburg-based agency immediately understood the essence of Push and created an attention-grabbing and highly engaging film that pushes the limits and stretches the imagination. A huge shoutout and thank you to Mr. Rocket, Mr. Wink and everybody else involved in this project! Our bronze nail now sits proudly alongside the one that Neue DIN won.
Incidentally, the incredible custom font project ‘FC Sans Pauli’ (in the person of our designer Christoph Koeberlin) and Solomiya magazine (which features Nice Collection) were two representatives of Fontwerk on the Grand Prix stage ;) Congratulations also go to the teams behind these great projects!

Supermarker is used throughout across the displays, on all the Calls to Action and interactive stations. (Photo: Sebastian Weissinger) |
We love this latest use case of Supermarker by Ulrike Rausch. Our friendliest typeface takes center stage in an award-winning permanent ‘Climate! Action! Knowledge!’ exhibition at the Vienna Museum of Science and Technology.
The exhibition highlights the climate crisis and is sustainable by design with the minimal use of materials, reuse of existing components and easy adaptability.
Supermarker is used throughout across the displays, on all the Calls to Action and interactive stations. Its human touch and easy legibility ensure that the friendly tone invites exhibition users to interact and take note.

Good type takes time and as they say, the best things come to those who wait… We mentioned in our last newsletter that we have something very special to share with you all soon. We still need a few more days before we can do the BIG REVEAL. So think of this as a Coming Soon (Part Two).
In the meantime, for those eager beavers amongst you, download our Trial Fonts package today and you’ll get much more than just a sneak peek! ;)

Our ever-expanding font polyglot, Pangea, now has improved support for Persian, also known as Farsi. Persian is spoken by 60 to 70 million people as their mother tongue and by a further 50 million as a second language, especially in Afghanistan, Iran and Tajikistan. While Persian support was already present, the updated design introduces shapes with a more distinct and refined character. This was once again designed by Azza Alameddine while Amir Mahdi Moslehi provided invaluable advice.
We’ll share more information about the differences and history of the different Arabic variants soon. In the meantime, you can take the fonts for a test drive by downloading them as trial fonts.
This language support is now also part of the Pangea typeface – as always at no extra charge.

We pride ourselves on working in close partnership with our designers. Giving them the time and space to concentrate on their creative work, whilst we take care of all the other fiddly bits (engineering, marketing, sales, licensing etc.). We are very lucky indeed to call some of the world’s leading contemporary type designers part of the Fontwerk family. Find out more about the faces behind the fonts and how to become a Fontwerk Designer.
