Up until now, Variable Fonts were only available for Case, Pangea, West and Ika. From now on, all Fontwerk fonts, including McQueen, Nikolai, Romaine, Supermarker and Turbine will be variable.
The good news: all customers who have already licensed a family or superfamily package can download the same again free of charge and will get the Variable Fonts. For all others, Variable Fonts are also available as Trial Fonts and are now included in the complete packages.
In the future, we aim to become ‘Variable First’ and our next two releases already follow this approach.

Say hello to Hamster, our first ever Color Font that will be released later this year.
We are super excited to be working with Joe Stitzlein from Stitzlein Studio on bringing to life this colorful new member to the Fontwerk family. Joe has had an illustrious career as an Executive Creative Director and Type Designer and he previously worked with Steve Jobs and Michelle Obama. He and his partner Leslie have over twenty years experience working with iconic organisations such as Nike, Pentagram and Landor to name a few.

Brand new to our gallery of fonts in use is a gorgeous example of our bestselling, climate change fighting Sans Serif, Pangea. Pangea and Pangea Text are used across the website and digital visual identity for Paypal’s Honey brand. The coupon app Honey searches for all known cashback discounts and reward codes and automatically redeems them at the checkout.
Pangea is used on the website, in the blog “milk+honey”, in YouTube videos (along with Pangea Text), Instagram posts, Pinterest posts, and in the browser extension itself.
Keen to see more Fontwerk fonts out in the wild? We are continually adding examples to our in use gallery. If you have used one of our fonts in a project then we’d love to hear from you.

Just a couple of days left to get your hands on some beautiful risograph posters. Simply order the complete Nikolai family before end of the month and you will receive the limited edition triptych.
Designed by Franziska Weitgruber, these beautiful posters show extracts from one of the most famous lyrical poems of ‘Korrnrliadr’ by Luis Stefan Stecher.

At the heart of what we do is a desire to make licensing our fonts as easy as possible and we believe that our model is one of the simplest and easiest to understand in the industry.
You can imagine how happy we were to read a recent interview in PAGE Magazine about the licensing conditions of type foundries, where the specialist lawyer for copyright and media law Sebastian Deubelli, namechecked Fontwerk as a particularly good example of comprehensive and easy to understand licenses.
It’s hard enough to find the right font, so we want to ensure licensing them is as simple as possible. With all of our licenses, the right-hand column gives a brief, but legally non-binding summary of the provisions. There is no drop menu, just a license in one click.
