The Specialized Palliative Care Outpatient Team in Ludwigsburg (SAPV) assists and supports terminally ill patients and their relatives with palliative care in their home or in a care facility.
On the occasion of its ten year anniversary, the SAPV pays tribute to the work of the facility and all its stakeholders in a commemorative publication “From people for people”, which was designed by the Stuttgart-based hellofarm. During the conception of the book, they accompanied SAPV staff during home visits and gained very personal insight into the stories and lives of the patients. The direct, honest, beautiful and sad moments moved and enriched the hellofarm team and these experiences became the creative foundation for the design.
Delicate and diffuse color gradients run throughout the entire book. They remind us of fleeting moments or feelings and the transience of life. Their spectrum includes both warm and cold colors that harmonize with each other. The typography corresponds with the soft background and adapts to the themes of the subject matter. Sometimes the text is set in a grid, while other times it is dynamically distributed over the pages – yet it is always new and in coordination with the content.
“The friendly and open typeface of Pangea blends harmoniously into the design of the book and is used in headlines and short text blocks.” said Fanny Engelhardt, hellofarm’s Art Director.
“For the sensitive nature of the subject matter, we looked for a reduced, clear typeface that nonetheless had a friendly and organic feel.”

In addition, hellofarm strives for sustainable design and ecological responsibility in its work. “Therefore, it was even nicer to learn that part of the revenue generated from Pangea is donated to large-scale reforestation projects.” adds hellofarm Co-Founder Bjørn Küenzlen.
