We interrupt our usual monthly roundup with a very special announcement: Neue DIN has arrived. We are delighted to start the New Year with a brand new typeface that breathes life into the Normschrift standard.

Is it possible to rethink the German design icon? For the sake of its longevity, we are convinced that you have to!
Combining the requirements of the digital world with modern German engineering, Neue DIN is our dynamic answer to a dynamic world. And just like 100 years ago, when the original design was created … It’s 100% Made in Berlin.
Hendrik Weber, Andreas Frohloff and Olli Meier have completely reimagined and reinvigorated this iconic typeface.
With extreme widths, a variable-first approach, 100% CSS compatibility and a touch of elegance, Neue DIN adds a vital new variant to the range of DIN typefaces and is a font that moves with the times.
Head to our microsite to see Neue DIN in all her glory.

In case you missed our news before Christmas: Christoph Koeberlin’s omnicultural and multilingual, Pangea now speaks Hebrew and Arabic. This latest development, brings the number of languages that Pangea now supports to a whopping total of 543!
With big thanks to Azza Alameddine, Yanek Iontef and Daniel Grumer who worked on the latest language extensions for us.
All existing users can download the expanded fonts free of charge by logging into their Fontwerk account. For new purchases, the price remains the same. But that’s not all: more support for other languages is coming soon.

We want to make type as accessible as possible, so we have made it super simple for students to enrich and expand their own collections with Fontwerk fonts. All eligible students can purchase a font family for the price of a single weight (e.g. buy the whole Neue DIN or Pangea Text family for just €50).
Even after graduation, the license remains valid.
